Rip Them Off
SCORE: 60

Family Friendly Gaming was given a digital
download code for Rip Them Off on the Nintendo Switch. This downloadable
only video game is also available on the Xbox One. Rip Them Off comes
from the same developer that brought us Swim Out. Rip Them Off is very
different than I expected it to be. I will elaborate on that in this
very review. Until then you can check out the Family Friendly Gaming
store where you won’t get ripped off.

Rip Them Off is like a tower defense game in a way. People come walking
from one side of the screen to the other. Players are required to place
stores that the people will walk into. The customers will stay in the
store so long and leave. Each store has only so much capacity. The goal
of Rip Them Off is to get as many people as possible spending money at
the stores. In each level of Rip Them Off we have a financial goal to
		reach.

When you do not reach the financial goal in Rip Them Off then you have
disappointed the corporation and must do the level over again. It is
difficult to beat any level outside of the tutorial levels in the first
try because we never know what customers will be coming. Certain
customers will only go into specific stores. These are all shown based
on the shape used to pick the stores.

The music in Rip Them Off is okay. The jazz flavor used in Rip Them Off
is not really my cup of tea. My annoyance with Rip Them Off went beyond
the music. I loved fast forwarding and watching my failures happen
faster. At times I wanted to add a second store but did not have the
money for it. Most tower defense styled video games let players add to
the levels very quickly. Rip Them Off requires more strategy from the
		beginning.

If you like challenging indie video games then Rip Them Off might be
right up your alley. I did not enjoy Rip Them Off. I am also bothered by
the anti-capitalism hate speech this game revolves around. It is also
one of those glass houses situations too. I can see people saying
Lozange Lab is trying to rip them off with Rip Them Off. They sadly
really opened themselves up to that too.
