I felt a warmth in my chest when Family
Friendly Gaming was given a digital download code for Birthday of
Midnight on the Nintendo Switch. This exact version of Birthday of
Midnight is also on the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Birthday of Midnight
is an action puzzle game. We have a white cube that we launch all over
the screen. The goal of Birthday of Midnight is to get that cube into
the goal area in as few moves as possible.
I must give you a stern warning concerning Birthday of Midnight. Do not
launch yourself off the screen. If you launch yourself off the screen
your white cube will die. The same thing happens if you land on spikes
or other hazards in Birthday of Midnight. What happens when you die in
Birthday of Midnight? When you die in Birthday of Midnight you will
respawn and start over. Players can also respawn easily by tapping a
certain button.
Why would you ever want to respawn in Birthday of Midnight? The reason
you may want to respawn in Birthday of Midnight is a mistake was made.
We have a guide that shows which direction we will launch and then we
determine how much power to use. The controls in Birthday of Midnight
are a guessing game. I never knew if I gave it too much or too little
power. The learning curve on those controls is steep.
The graphics are done in the minimalistic black and white. The music in
Birthday of Midnight is pretty cool to listen to. I had to find the
right angles and the right power to get into the goal area in Birthday
of Midnight. The designs of some levels are easier to traverse than
others. Some have a slope down into the goal and some have a slope going
away from the goal. It takes practice to get good at the controls in
Birthday of Midnight.
There are over seventy levels in Birthday of Midnight. They get
progressively more difficult as the player works their way through the
levels. Birthday of Midnight is a one hundred and sixty-four meg
download on the Nintendo Switch. I found parts of Birthday of Midnight
to be extremely challenging. I figured out how to play Birthday of
Midnight thankfully. Action puzzle gamers will probably get into
Birthday of Midnight.
