The Smurfs

There has been a demand on our Youtube channel for more Smurf games. We purchase them as we get the money and then get them into our recording pipeline just as fast as we can. There are only so many hours in the day, and we can not devote as much time as I would like to it. The Smurfs on the Nintendo DS has been sitting in my pile for a bit. I thought it might be cool to play this hand held video game and review it.

Normally we video record games, and then review them later. I only have bandwidth to record six different DS/3DS games at a time. The Smurfs is not going to make it anytime soon sadly. So I was itching to play it. The Smurfs on the DS is a lot like The Smurfs 2 on the Nintendo DS. We turn the device sideways, play mini games, and read the story. Or have the story read to us.

The Smurfs contains mini games, a picture book, and The Smurfs collection. The six mini games in The Smurfs are Smurf Coloring, Match the Smurf, Cake Decorating, Smurf Band, Smurfette Dress-Up, and Smurf Hop. They each have different difficulty settings. Certain mini games have multiple different locations or pages. The music and the voice acting are both good in The Smurfs.

Families can read The Smurfs on their own or have it read to them. This makes The Smurfs on the DS a neat little educational game. The graphics in The Smurfs are nice and I believe this is a good game for kids. There are three difficulty settings in the six mini games contained within The Smurfs. There are seventeen different Smurf trophies that can be earned in a barrel game.

I had fun playing The Smurfs. I was able to get through the content in this rather quickly. I am an adult and The Smurfs is definitely for children. I hope to see more games like The Smurfs on the Nintendo DS in the future. It was a pleasure for me to play and review The Smurfs on the DS. Families can find The Smurfs for a nice low price these days as well.
