Madden NFL 20

Family Friendly Gaming was given a retail version of Madden NFL 20 on the Xbox One for this review. I am torn on this years Madden. There are things I like about this football game and things I am not that big on. Every year the Madden video games focus on something new and different. This year Madden NFL 20 focuses on making big plays. Madden NFL 20 is extremely focused on offense.

Madden NFL 20 looks good and is really fun to play on offense. Defense is much harder to play this year. I would rack up six or more sacks on the Rookie mode in past Madden’s. This year I had trouble getting one sack. I would do everything right, but I could not get past the blockers. This area of realism is lacking now. It is a blast breaking three to five tackles and running it in for a touchdown.

If the defense gangs up on an offensive player with the ball then they will go down. I also noticed Madden NFL 20 is easier than past Madden games. I bumped up the difficulty to Pro and was still winning easily. I love the announcers in Madden NFL 20. They are really hitting their stride finally. There is offensive music in Madden NFL 20. Thankfully that can be turned off in the Settings.

Madden NFL 20 includes numerous modes (many of them online) for families to enjoy. Two family members can compete or play together on a team. Juking and spinning are very over powered in Madden NFL 20. Just using the right stick I could break tackles and get a monster gain. Too often I tried to run out the clock and wound up scoring again. Certain players are horrible (like the kicker on the Jets).

Did you enjoy the Twitch stream Noah and I did of Madden NFL 20? That will eventually make its way to Youtube. That was one of the best football games we have ever had. The back and forth at the end is amazing. We did not have a clue who was going to win that game. Ya’ll definitely need to follow us on Twitch to see amazing games live. Everyone watching really enjoyed it.
