Games provided Family Friendly Gaming a digital download code for Super
Destronaut DX on the Nintendo Switch. This downloadable only video game
can also be found on the Playstation 4 (PS4), Playstation Vita (PS
Vita), and Xbox One. Does Super Destronaut DX sound familiar to you?
Family Friendly Gaming published a review of Super Destronaut on the Wii
U. There have been improvements since that time.
Super Destronaut DX is in essence an upgrade to the Space Invaders
concept. These alien looking things will march left or right, and when
they hit the edge of the screen they come down one row closer to our
ship. We shoot them to make them go away. After we destroy all of the
aliens we get another wave of them to attack us. It depends on what mode
you are playing in Super Destronaut DX.
The modes in Super Destronaut DX are Challenges, Classic Mode, Time
Attack, Hardcore, Multiplayer, Leaderboards, Statistics, How to Play,
and Options. Petite Games has fleshed out Super Destronaut DX much
better. There are still indie graphics and indie sounds. The voice actor
in Super Destronaut DX does a nice job. He made me feel like I was back
in the arcade.
The grid graphics in Super Destronaut DX remind me of some older games
that I enjoyed playing when I was a child. It takes more than one shot
to take out the enemies in Super Destronaut DX. Unless you have acquired
a power up. Please note the power ups in Super Destronaut DX are very
limited. I wish they would last until I took a hit. I know that may have
imbalanced this downloadable only shooting game a bit too much. At least
allow it for casual gamers.
The colors and special effects look good in Super Destronaut DX. The
aliens have all kinds of weird attacks. Plus I had to pay attention to
the ground where enemies could hit me as well. Super Destronaut DX is a
mindless little arcade game on the home consoles. This is one of those
games that could chill you out or stress you out depending on how you
do. I had fun with this game. It is retro upgraded.
