Family Friendly Gaming was provided a digital download code for METAL
MAX Xeno on the Playstation 4. This game is a 1.4 gig download. There is
also a physical copy version of METAL MAX Xeno. This role playing video
game is different in a couple of ways. The fantasy world in METAL MAX
Xeno is about the near extinction of humanity thanks to a lack of
resources. METAL MAX Xeno gets all environmentally preachy that we are
using too many resources and destroying the Earth.
The issues families can have with METAL MAX Xeno are violence, blood,
lack of attire, enticement to lust, bad language, man made environmental
destruction and more. The intro song is in English but the voice acting
is in Japanese. It is a shame there were no English voice actors used in
METAL MAX Xeno. The dry desert cel shaded graphics in METAL MAX Xeno are
a bit depressing.
We play METAL MAX Xeno in a couple of ways. First we drive a team around
in tank(s). Secondly we explore dungeons outside the tank. The monsters
are too powerful for weak humans. The tanks are much stronger and can
easily destroy many of the monsters. We are alerted when enemies are
nearby. We can shoot them from a distance to get the first attack on
them. When we get strong enough that one shot can destroy the monsters.
If that shot does not destroy them we go into a turn based battle.
I like the music in METAL MAX Xeno. Expect to battle early and often in
METAL MAX Xeno. I spent a lot of time driving the tank to the next fast
travel location. Then I would fast travel back to the base to fix my
tank and resupply the ammunition. I could not make it very far without
some enemy appearing. Grinding is required to beat bosses and progress
in METAL MAX Xeno. There are also certain larger monsters on the map
that have bounties on them.
I liked the gameplay in METAL MAX Xeno. The apocalyptic storyline felt
like it came from the radical, extremist far left. The main character
has a skill that can seriously damage the enemies. The problem is if he
uses it three times in a battle he will get paralyzed. Not everyone here
at Family Friendly Gaming liked all of the enemy spawns in METAL MAX
Xeno. I grew used to it.
