Family Friendly Gaming rarely reviews macabre and morbid ESRB 'M'
rated video games. No one here thought Old Time Hockey on the Personal
Computer, Xbox One, and Playstation 4 would get the macabre and morbid
ESRB 'M' rating. It was being marketed as like NHL 94. I played NHL 94
recently, and Old Time Hockey is nothing like it. I also question why
this downloadable only title would shoot itself in the foot by limiting
its audience so drastically. In my opinion no one under twenty-one
should play Old Time Hockey.
The first thing I noticed about Old Time Hockey - after the shocking
rating was the high level of profanity in the music. Why was that
necessary? I found where the music could be turned off. Even some of the
band names are offensive. It is like Old Time Hockey went out of its way
to be anti-family. The voice acting needs work in Old Time Hockey. The
drug and alcohol references topped off the abysmal audio section of this
game.
Old Time Hockey really wants you to fight. Opponents can be killed in
Old Time Hockey. Why? Who out there wants an old school hockey game
where we digitally murder others? The extremely dark story line fits
into supporting murder too. We get blood, gore, and all kinds of
violence in Old Time Hockey. You can play clean, but the computer will
play very dirty.
Old Time Hockey is an extremely difficult hockey game. If you play this
game I hope you like losing. Why? That is the only thing Old Time Hockey
taught me. It taught me how to lose over and over again. The AI in Old
Time Hockey is as dumb as a bag of bricks. Bless its heart. The computer
players on the other team can easily score on my goalie. Who stood there
watching it happen most of the time. The other goalie blocked most of my
shots - he also stood there most of the time. Frustration at the
controls was common place while playing Old Time Hockey.
Old Time Hockey is a 2.2 gig download. I could not find a physical copy
of this game anywhere. I really do not understand why so much bad
content was stuffed into Old Time Hockey. Families will pass on Old Time
Hockey thanks to all the profanity, blood, gore, violence, alcohol, and
drugs. There was such potential for Old Time Hockey. Players can go into
story mode or exhibition with Old Time Hockey. Very light on content for
the price.
