Ambition of the Slimes

Family Friendly Gaming was given a digital download code for Ambition of the Slimes on the Nintendo 3DS. This is one challenging turned based strategy role playing game. What makes Ambition of the Slimes really challenging is the player is in control of the slimes. They are weak. If you know role playing video game lore then you know they are the weakest enemy in many role playing video game franchises.

The slimes have one thing going for them in Ambition of the Slimes though. They can claim the bodies of the heroes in the levels. Then use them to wreck havoc on the rest of the heroes in a level. I noticed in some levels I went from being outnumbered to outnumbering the heroes. It did feel weird playing a monster and attacking heroes. Like I was on the wrong side of the law. It made me very uncomfortable.

After winning a level in Ambition of the Slimes then a new slime asks to join your team. Some of them are good and some of them are not so good. It took me forever to figure this out. Initially I thought more characters awesome. A bigger team is always better than a smaller team. Especially when it comes to a challenging game like Ambition of the Slimes. Casual gamers will have trouble playing Ambition of the Slimes due to the difficulty level.

The music in Ambition of the Slimes is good. I think I heard a little Final Fantasy jingle here and there. Graphically Ambition of the Slimes does not look that great. There is some enticement to lust with some of the characters in Ambition of the Slimes. You might have to look for it since the graphics of the characters is on the small side. There is also role playing violence in Ambition of the Slimes where weapons are used to harm other characters.

Yellow flags are very important in Ambition of the Slimes. If you can stay alive on one for a turn then it will heal some of your hit points. There is definite strategy in Ambition of the Slimes. Claiming heroes looks really weird too. The slime will get the character to open their mouth really wide and jump in their mouth. The thought of a slime in my mouth makes me want to vomit.
