Kung Fu Panda Showdown of Legendary Legends is a scaled down version of Super Smash Bros using characters from the Kung Fu Panda franchise. Kung Fu Panda Showdown of Legendary Legends is slower than Super Smash Bros. Kung Fu Panda Showdown of Legendary Legends has less characters than Super Smash Bros. There are some interesting fight modes in Kung Fu Panda Showdown of Legendary Legends though. And a variety of summoned characters.

I like the one where we get a crown and have to hold the crown the longest. Each second the crown is on your characters head, the larger your count goes. There was also a food related one where we could knock food out of the opponents, and collect it. Each character starts with one hundred percent health. The lower the health the easier it is to knock them off the screen.

There are a fair amount of screens in Kung Fu Panda Showdown of Legendary Legends. The tournament mode in Kung Fu Panda Showdown of Legendary Legends consists of ten battles. Multiple difficulty settings allows for gamers of all skillsets to play. Some of the screens have places where players can fall to their demise. Like on the edges, or under a bridge after said bridge has been knocked down. Plenty of iconic locales from the movies are in this game.

The core of Kung Fu Panda Showdown of Legendary Legends is punching, kicking, and using special moves to bash in your opponents. Normal matches give the characters three lives (note in local multi-player than can be adjusted). Characters also have comments from the movies. It took me quite a few matches to get used to the control style, and then to find a character that battles in a way that matches my temperament.

I am a bit surprised Kung Fu Panda Showdown of Legendary Legends did not earn the thirteen and older rating. Families may want to rent Kung Fu Panda Showdown of Legendary Legends before making a purchase. Kung Fu Panda Showdown of Legendary Legends is a different take on the Super Smash Bros formula. Some gamers will like it, and some will rant against it. To be fair many of the ranters complain about everything.
