Trainz Simulator

I have a son that absolutely loves trains. So he helps me review any train based video game. The most recent train title to come our way is Trainz Simulator. This iPad game steams into the Family Friendly Gaming Nation during a time it is on sale for ninety-nine cents. That is an absolute steal for this game.

Graphically Trainz Simulator looks okay. There was a lot of detail and effort put into the trains. I really enjoyed looking at the different engines. Trust me I was not the only one who loved to see them. The graphics out and about are decent. There are some details lacking inside the cab, and looking at trees.

The various camera views are neat. I learned that I had to be careful playing around in the map view because the speed limit changes on the tracks. I wound up blowing through a few towns at seventy miles per hour when I was supposed to be doing only thirty or forty miles per hour. Whoops!

There are some nice train sounds in Trainz Simulator. Make sure you do not keep the horn on though - that can get annoying real quick. Trainz Simulator includes a neat little tutorial that will help you learn how to play. There is an easy control mode where you should be able to figure out how to control the game without the tutorial. I messed around with the tutorial after figuring out how to play this iPad game myself.

Trainz Simulator includes a couple of different modes, routes, and objectives. This game is easily worth the ninety-nine cents. In fact it is worth three to four times that in my opinion. If you are smart, and like trains then you will snap up Trainz Simulator right after reading this review. Hey you could stop reading it and go buy the app - I don't mind.

Trainz Simulator is a solid train simulator on the iPad platform. It reminds me of a Personal Computer (PC) game in so many different ways. Although PC games generally look a lot better. I could still tell what everything in Trainz Simulator was. Kids love to take the trains for a spin in Trainz Simulator.
