Puddle

With any new system comes ports. These are games that appeared on other systems. Puddle is one of these games. It was on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 last year (in the year of our Lord 2012). Now it is on the Wii U. At first I thought it was absolutely brilliant that Puddle was ported to the Wii U.

I might as well get my biggest gripe out of the way in regards to Puddle. There are no Wii U features being used. I can play it on the big screen or on the Wii U gamepad. I actually turned off the television set to save on electricity. We tilt the whole screen with the 'ZR' and 'ZL' buttons.

I personally find Puddle to be an innovative and interesting title. I just wish the content had been done to bring the rating down to a lower age range. I believe more members of the family could enjoy Puddle if it had been developed with that in mind. The concept of moving a water source from one spot to another is a good one.

The various pipes and locales in Puddle are generally fascinating, fresh and fun. We have to deal with some things like the crude humor, violence, and blood. In my opinion much of that could have been replaced for a more inclusive gaming experience for younger members of the family.

Puddle is still a challenging game. Especially if you want to try and get as much of the water to the end as possible. There are multiple obstacles like fire that will evaporate the water. Once it is gone, it is gone. If you have not previously experienced Puddle, you may want to take a look at it.

Puddle looks great on the Wii U - either screen. It does really shine on the television set. I enjoyed the music, and atmosphere of this home console downloadable title. I wish there were more done with the controls. At times the water gets spread really thin.
