remember my review for Mahjong 3D - Warriors of the Emperor? Mahjong 3D
Essentials is similar in multiple ways. The controls, background
graphics and music come right to the forefront of what is similar. Oh
and Mahjong 3D Essentials is also a downloadable game on the Nintendo
3DS.
The Create Your Own Levels is one of the neatest things inside Mahjong
3D Essentials. Families can create their very own elaborate layouts for
the tiles. You can create an intelligent design or a not so intelligent
design. You can create cool looking shapes, or go with something
rudimentary.
Mahjong 3D Essentials takes care of the Buddist gamers with background
images in Mahjong 3D Essentials. I did not notice any Christian
religious imagery while playing this hand held game though. The graphics
are soft, and look neat in 3D. As long as your head does not feel funny
from the 3D.
Families can enjoy seventy levels in Mahjong 3D Essentials. Players
start with easy, move to medium, and then take on challenging levels in
hard. That level editor is one of the coolest features that will extend
the life span of this downloadable hand held game.
The controls in Mahjong 3D Essentials frustrated me at first. The bottom
screen is blank. The top screen has the cursor. Where we touch on the
bottom moves the cursor on the top. Selecting a tile requires the family
member holds down on that tile for a second. To match the family member
moves over to the matching tile and presses down on it. This sounds easy
in words, but will take multiple tries to eventually get it.
Treva Entertainment has released Mahjong 3D Essentials into an ever
expanding Mahjong field. Some of which have been their own games. It
will be interesting to see if puzzle gamers embrace Mahjong 3D
Essentials. I can see Mahjong 3D Essentials doing really well in the
Japanese and Chinese markets.
