Die!Die!Die!

SCORE: 70

Die!Die!Die! has the most interesting name for a game that I have played all year long. And that is saying something. What exactly I am not sure. But you can decide for yourself. Especially if you are sitting around thanks to the government shut down.

What kind of game is Die!Die!Die! on the Playstation Vita? I think of Die!Die!Die! as a puzzle shooter. Are you confused yet? I mean puzzle games and shooter games do not generally go together. Right? They do in Die!Die!Die! on the PS Vita.

Players have a syringe on the left of the screen and viruses come at you from the right side. Players shoot medicine at the viruses. The nasty bugs are destroyed thanks to the medicine explosions. Die!Die!Die! also contains power ups that can be helpful. The medicine pills are my favorite.

Players work their way through the body in Die!Die!Die!. There are different systems you can work on like the arteries, brain and more. I had to zoom in on the patients body to select a level since they are so small. If you are used to the pinch and zoom method on the iPhone then you know what to do on the PS Vita.

Die!Die!Die! can get difficult as levels progress. It can also be a bit boring. This hand held game tries to mix things up - like survive so many seconds instead of destroy so many viruses. But in the end we are doing the same thing. Power ups can be the difference between winning and losing.

My biggest issue with Die!Die!Die! is trying to load the syringe. We do so by putting our finger on the screen. The bar will load - which we can not see since it is under our finger. You can look at the syringe to see if it is loading or not. I learned to plan ahead of where the viruses would be since the syringes launches in a slow fashion. Some bugs looked dead but survived so that was also annoying since they were less visible.

I ran across some bad language while playing Die!Die!Die! on the Vita. Not really sure why it was there since it made little sense to me. Die!Die!Die! has a few problems here and there. Overall it is a firm title with many levels to complete. Most levels can be beaten quickly - as long as you do not fail at them.
