Word Bird Supreme

Word Bird Supreme

I hate to say it but someone has to. Apps are becoming a dime a dozen. There are companies releasing one, two and even three apps a week. There are so many that it starts to make my head spin. I have exported many apps to our backup drive. There is not enough memory for all of them. And everybody has something they want us to play.

So when Paul told me there was a new app he thought I would enjoy; well lets just say I was not cheerleader excited. My exact thoughts were: "oh no, not another one." Word Bird Supreme is the app he was referencing. I am so glad he picked this app out of the crowded field. It takes concepts from my two favorite franchises.

Word Bird Supreme is a word game. Meaning we tap a letter, and draw lines to additional letters to spell words. I love these kinds of games. they are a lot of fun. There are coins behind each letter in Word Bird Supreme. To beat a board we must use all of the letters on the screen. This concept has been used in the Cradle of Rome franchise (among others). Mixing them together works.

The artwork of the birds in Word Bird Supreme is okay. I have seen better and I have seen worse. The special effects when we do neat things (like use all letters in a row) is pretty neat. Beating a board gives us more turns, and additional coins from a nice little treasure chest.

The music in Word Bird Supreme is chipper. I like it, and that is a good thing. Word Bird Supreme offers hints to players who are stuck. There is also a shuffle button. That shuffle button is needed. Too often there are too many consonants by each other without any vowels.

Word Bird Supreme is a really fun game for all ages of the family that can spell. The more I played Word Bird Supreme the more I tried to spell longer words. Doing so provides more points, and of course more turns. Word Bird Supreme is clean and safe for everyone in the family. I hope to see sequels in the future. I could see Word Bird Supreme being ported to the 3DS and/or Vita too.
