To-Fu Collection

There is one question left that the video game industry needs to answer. Do you To-Fu? If the answer is no, then Rising Star Games has a Nintendo DS video game for you - To-Fu Collection. There are two hundred levels in this hand held little gem. Yes you heard me right - TWO HUNDRED! They vary in length and difficulty. Some are app depth, and others are much deeper.

There are plenty of flinger games out there. What is a flinger game? It is a game where we stretch something and launch a character in a specific direction. In To-Fu Collection we pull our cute little karate square the direction we want him to go. Collect items along the way, avoid the spikes, electricity and other hazards until we hit the end item.

I took To-Fu Collection for granted at first. I blew through some levels and thought this game was going to be a cake walk. Then I had to start bouncing off surfaces, slipping on others, and use pin point accuracy. To-Fu Collection earned my respect in those moments. Dying and having to do a level over again can test the patience and perseverance of the most talented gamers.

Our little guy has plausible animations that fit the action of the moment. I always felt bad having him hit spikes. What made me feel even worse was when I launched him into electricity by accident. Having to start the level over from the start was my punishment for that mistake. I accepted it like a man, and worked harder to avoid the pitfalls the next time.

The achievements in To-Fu Collection are really cool. They are awarded often enough to keep the player engaged. To-Fu Collection is constantly throwing new ideas at us. Master one game play aspect to find a new one that can be tougher to figure out. If that were not bad enough To-Fu Collection will put some of them together.

I had to be nearly perfect on some levels to pass, and others were much more lenient. Mistakes in To-Fu Collection lead to death most of the time. It lets us easily restart those levels though. I really like To-Fu Collection. I am thankful Family Friendly Gaming was provided a reviewable copy for this review. I hope to see more games like this in the future. I think To-Fu Collection would look great in 3D.
