Tiny Plane
SCORE: 84
There are numerous games on the iPhone
market that target the Jetpack Joyride kind of game play. Tiny Plane is
one of the more unique ones. First and foremost we fly a plane with a
dog. I said it was unique. We fly through hoops for gained speed, grab
coins, fruit, and avoid missiles and mines. Tiny Plane distinguishes
itself by making us go down and land. We have to land to fill those gas
tanks.
In case you were wondering, yes you can crash instead of landing in Tiny
Plane. Take a dive and your plane will explode. Which is the main
violence in Tiny Plane. We can crash into a variety of things, and hurt
our little dog. The graphics in Tiny Plane are cute with child friendly
color schemes being used.
The music in Tiny Plane is wondrous. I love listening to the music in
Tiny Plane. I also noticed that Tiny Plane has little touches to it that
set it above and beyond so many other games on the iPhone. Many
developers out there can take a look at Tiny Plane to see what I am
describing. This app takes care of the little things.
What about the big things though? Thankfully players have choices when
it comes to the control scheme. I had to find what worked best for me,
and then stuck with it. Having to land the plane is an interesting game
play mechanic that made me shift my thinking. Normally I am just going
and going without any thought to refueling. Tiny Plane made me think
about landing, and doing it safely. Then I had to safely take off again.
It does break up the action.
Tiny Plane gives players a reason to replay it. There are different
things that can be purchased with the coins earned in the levels. Not as
much as say a Jetpack Joyride, but maybe more will be coming in updates.
The multiplayer option in Tiny Plane is really cool. I was not expecting
it in this game, so it is a welcome surprise. If you like to compete
against others you will enjoy the multiplayer mode in Tiny Plane.
Tiny Plane is a cute game for families. I liked flying around and
collecting items in this game. I wish there were goals like in Jetpack
Joyride. The taking off and landing is the major stand out feature in
Tiny Plane. It takes a little while to get used to it, but once you do
it becomes pretty cool. I hope to see sequels to this game in the
future.
