The Act

One of things we like to see at Family Friendly Gaming is different kinds of video games. The Act is one of the most unique and interesting experiences we have played in some time. It can be difficult to explain what this hand held video game is all about. The best description I can give is an interactive cartoon.

There are some amazing looking cartoons in The Act. The animation is at the level of a Disney movie. There is some mild enticement to lust in how the nurse is portrayed. Especially in the main characters fantasy of her. The Act also contains a few images of cigarettes and cigars. This is actually mild in my opinion.

The storyline is one of the coolest parts of The Act. I had no idea where this game was taking me. It starts out with a window washer fantasizing about a nurse. Then he has to keep his brother working while the boss watches. From there we have to sneak into the hospital to stop our brother from getting a brain transplant.

Out of the thousands of video games I have played, there are very few that are genuinely funny. The Act is absolutely hilarious. This ranges from things that actually happen in the storyline, and things that will happen if we mess up a scene. In fact seeing what happens if we are too aggressive is actually an interesting part of The Act.

The controls in The Act can be confusing as first. We swipe right and left to change how the main character deals with a situation. Some scenes require we move back and forth at certain intervals. The Act contains unlimited continues. This is nice to help players make it through the game. The bad side is players can breeze through The Act. Players can try and improve their scores, and see all the different animations. I still wish The Act was longer.

I enjoyed my time with The Act. This iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch game is a completely different kinds of experience. It reminds me of Dragons Lair in some regards. The Act is kind to players by offering advice when there are repeated failures. I never felt like any scene in The Act was impossible. I did enjoy beating each and every one of them.
