Team Umizoomi and Doras Fantastic Flight
SCORE: 91
2K Play finds the best combinations for
kids. Team Umizoomi & Dora's Fantastic Flight on the Nintendo DS brings
together Dora the Explorer and Team Umizoomi. In most of the levels we
get to play with all five of the main characters: Dora, Boots, Milli,
Geo, and Bot.
The goal in Team Umizoomi & Dora's Fantastic Flight is to rebuild the
airship. Two bad characters stole them and hid the parts at the end of
rather long levels. Team Umizoomi & Dora's Fantastic Flight does provide
kids some gaming diversity while they are learning some important math
skills.
Team Umizoomi & Dora's Fantastic Flight also teaches pattern
recognition, colors, and shapes. Something that stands out about Team
Umizoomi & Dora's Fantastic Flight is it is a long game for kids. Which
is good in my opinion because so many kids games are so short.
The hills are alive with something in Team Umizoomi & Dora's Fantastic
Flight, and its not music. They are alive with all kinds of vibrant
colors. Certain objects can be shaken for air gems. That is the
collectible item in Team Umizoomi & Dora's Fantastic Flight on the
Nintendo DS.
Team Umizoomi & Dora's Fantastic Flight reminds me of the Wii Dora and
Go Diego Go games. It has a similar feel to it. Team Umizoomi & Dora's
Fantastic Flight will verbally explain what the child needs to do. There
is also a visual cue on the screen. This game provides multiple ways of
explaining - which is fantastico.
Children can play Team Umizoomi & Dora's Fantastic Flight with the touch
screen exclusively if they choose. I found many of the sections of this
game can be played with the control buttons as well. Some things work
better with the touch screen - like launching pads, and others work
better with the controls - like moving around and jumping.
Team Umizoomi & Dora's Fantastic Flight is a solid game that children
can enjoy. I like the different lessons it teaches inside the levels of
this hand held game. Team Umizoomi & Dora's Fantastic Flight is one of
the best kids games I have played all year long. I hope you take some
time to check it out.
