Pyramidville Adventure

Social games are all the craze right now. Why? Well all your friends and family love to hear how you just built a house, sailed a boat, harvested some lettuce, or chopped down a tree inside a video game. All joking aside, there are a fair number of people who like to game together. They compete in games, and even trade in them.

Bulkypix has teamed up with Kobojo to bring Pyramidville Adventure to the iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad. The concept of Pyramidville Adventure is pretty simple. Build up your Egyptian style town. This involves clearing out areas, building houses, harvesting crops, using the mill, and trading with neighboring towns.

The catch to Pyramidville Adventure is you have to wait for things to happen. Send a boat off for a trade and it won't be back for thirty minutes. Certain things in the game require gems to purchase them. Which are hard to come by. Unless you decide to pay for more to be put in your inventory. Pyramidville Adventure reminds me of the recent Virtual City release. Both franchises have a great imbalance in that regard. It is easy to collect gold, but those gems will hold things up.

Ultimately that is going to be the downfall of Pyramidville Adventure in my opinion. Gamers either have to keep shelling out money to complete missions, or they wait for days for things to accumulate. I can see gamers giving up on Pyramidville Adventure because of having to wait. Especially if they can't convince their friends to shell out money to keep going.

I also ran into some issues with Pyramidville Adventure crashing. It was unplayable on an iPod Touch 3rd generation. It was much better on an iPod Touch 4th generation. But it still would crash from time to time on it as well. Players need an internet account and connection to play Pyramidville Adventure. Otherwise it will not work at all.

The Egyptian music and sounds in Pyramidville Adventure are distinctive. They are also pleasant to listen to in my opinion. The graphics have a very bright and colorful look. I should warn you that there are plenty of characters in Pyramidville Adventure who are only partially dressed. Pyramidville Adventure teaches the basics of an economy and how to grow it.
