Natural Basketball
SCORE: 71
With most sports games I am either all in
or all out. Natural Basketball is one of those rare sports based titles
that I am half in and half out. I will explain more as this review
progresses. We shoot hoops half court style, and there are also
opportunities to slam dunk. We touch a basketball with our fingers and
launch it towards the hoop.
The basketball, court, and trimming in Natural Basketball look good.
They present the feel of the basketball court in the visuals. There are
plenty of diverse basketballs to unlock. Players are granted all kinds
of different bonus points for doing different things. And yes there are
also achievements we can earn in Natural Basketball.
The music has an upbeat tempo that will get the heart rate up there. I
also noticed various words of encouragement when I would do something
spectacular. The last ten seconds we shoot in Natural Basketball is like
an alarm clock going off. This game lets you know that its now or never,
and I appreciate that.
When I first played Natural Basketball I absolutely hated it. The game
moves the ball all around the screen. I missed short, and missed long
over and over again. The ball would bounce around on the floor on the
short shots. I learned that I needed to hit the 'New Ball' button. I
started hitting some shots, but never could figure out the pattern. Some
times a light touch does it and some times it does not work.
Natural Basketball has a good solid foundation in all of the unlockable
content, and the scoring system. The achievements are fun and very
different from what I expected. The main lesson in Natural Basketball is
how much force to use to chuck the basketball into the hoop. I think I
chucked it into orbit a few times. Natural Basketball is safe fun if you
can get your range.
