Monster High Skultimate Roller Maze
SCORE: 74
Monster High Skultimate Roller Maze is my
first exposure to the franchise. Monster High is a high school with
monster kids as the main characters. There have been dolls, television
specials and DVDs. Monster High Skultimate Roller Maze is definitely a
Halloween kind of product.
Monster High Skultimate Roller Maze on the Nintendo DS is a three
character team race. Players can swap between their three characters
within a race at any time. Monster High Skultimate Roller Maze borrows
heavily from the Mario Kart franchise. power ups are found and players
can use them to improve their standing or try and slow down the
competition.
Your team in Monster High Skultimate Roller Maze will roller blade. This
took some getting used to. As does the long race tracks, and multitude
of obstacles. Players are awarded so many points based on where they
place. After all the races they are then ranked, and the top three are
declared. Which is funny, since there are only four teams that race.
The action in Monster High Skultimate Roller Maze can be painfully slow
at times. Especially at the beginning. I learned the computer controlled
characters love to punch my character and knock them down. I would then
spend the remainder of that lap trying to catch up to all the other
teams.
The whole horror theme is surface deep. The characters do not look that
great in the Nintendo DS version. I noticed many of the female
characters are wearing short skirts. The music kept me entertained while
I trudged through the long race tracks. Plenty of unlockable content for
those that enjoy Monster High.
In my opinion Monster High Skultimate Roller Maze is going to be for
those that enjoy the franchise. Possible for those looking for a
completely different and totally quirky kind of racer. Monster High
Skultimate Roller Maze does reward players for sticking with it with the
unlockable content.
