ModNation Racers Roadtrip

ModNation Racers Roadtrip is one of the
top five launch titles I was personally interested in. This kart racing
game has ported over from the Playstation 3 masterfully. And in some
ways this hand held Vita game is better than the home console title.
Roadtrip added to the ModNation Racers says it all. This is a hand held
version that feels very close to the home console version.
The tracks look great in ModNation Racers Roadtrip. The racers are okay.
They are lacking in certain details, and look like marshmallow people to
me. The violence in ModNation Racers Roadtrip is at the level of a Mario
Kart game. Pick up a power-up, and launch the weapon at the other
racers. There are defensive, and speed boost items as well. Weapons can
be powered up to level three. Then they become extremely devastating.
Launching them at the right point of a race can grant an easy victory.
The music in ModNation Racers Roadtrip is great. I do not miss the
announcers one bit. In my opinion it improves the franchise. Aside from
the weapons I heard quite a bit of metal grinding. See the racers like
to bump one another. They get drafting a bit too close when they are
side by side - so to speak.
ModNation Racers Roadtrip earns a flawless victory in the replay
department. Almost everything is customizable in this hand held game. We
can adjust our characters, our vehicles, and the race tracks. If that
were not enough then half a million tracks available online should catch
your eye. ModNation Racers Roadtrip includes online modes for those that
like to compete against fellow humans.
If you are not familiar with ModNation Racers Roadtrip then there is a
tutorial to walk you through the start of the career mode. If you know
what you are doing then that tutorial can be quickly skipped. Races can
be learned outside of career mode for those that like to have some idea
what the track looks like. I found the learning curve in ModNation
Racers Roadtrip to be just right. Shortcuts are all over the race
tracks. Although some can be difficult if you make a mistake - like
falling into the water.
At the end of the day I found ModNation Racers Roadtrip to be a really
fun hand held racing title. I enjoyed all the different achievements and
trophies I earned. ModNation Racers Roadtrip is a community racing title
that teaches us to get to the top by any means necessary. ModNation
Racers Roadtrip also teaches us to look for alternate paths to the main
road. Sony has really impressed me with ModNation Racers Roadtrip on the
PS Vita.
