Marvel Pinball 3D
SCORE: 80
Roger has written some wonderful reviews
on the various tables of Marvel Pinball. I have been interested and
intrigued about this franchise for some time now. So when Zen Studios
decided to release Marvel Pinball 3D on the Nintendo 3DS I was all over
it. I wanted to experience the Marvel Pinball franchise in 3D. This is
my first time playing a Marvel Pinball game.
Marvel Pinball 3D contains three good boards, and one not so good. There
are boards for Iron Man, Captain America, The Fantastic Four, and Blade.
Blade is the one not so good board. Since he hunts vampires and demons
there are some disgusting images. And certain things said that you may
not want your children to hear.
The 3D effects in Marvel Pinball 3D are wonderful. First off these
boards look great, and having these characters on top of the pinball
machines adds a layer of interactivity. The characters can battle it out
if you do the right things on the pinball machines. This is where the
fantasy violence comes into play. It can take some skills to be good
enough to get to that point though. And I had to do certain things while
they were fighting.
There is so much going on in Marvel Pinball 3D. Characters will say
things to you when you do certain things, or make a mistake. Points are
racked up, and tabulated. I love how Marvel Pinball 3D lets me know how
many points I have scored in each board, and overall. This makes stats
tracking very easy. And that can be compared online in leaderboards.
Even when I did poorly in levels of Marvel Pinball 3D I was having a
blast. There is something about getting that ball to go right where we
want it to go that is nostalgic. Plus I did not have to pump in
quarters, and did not have other nearby sounds distracting me. I found I
could get lost in the pinball action of Marvel Pinball 3D.
Thankfully Marvel Pinball 3D is not so addictive that a player can not
put it down. I was able to easily set this game aside and go and do some
real world things - like publish press releases. I hope Zen Studios
continues to expand the Marvel Pinball franchise to other platforms. It
looks great on the Nintendo 3DS. Marvel Pinball 3D adds diversity to the
line up on this little hand held which is something we appreciate here
at Family Friendly Gaming.
