Knights of the Round Cable
SCORE: 77
I was sitting there enjoying some
wonderful food and drink at E3 2012. Paul was checking out this rotating
game. My feet hurt and I was happy to relax for a minute. Knights of the
Round Cable stuck out in my mind though. I saw hundreds of games at E3
2012, and Knights of the Round Cable stayed with me. So I asked to
review this iPhone/iPod Touch game.
Since I am writing this review you can probably discern the response
from our epic editor in chief. Knights of the Round Cable is all about
grabbing onto objects in the castles and rotating around. There are gems
to collect, enemies to avoid, and some enemies to dispatch. If Knights
of the Round Cable was just that, it would get boring really soon.
Thankfully Knights of the Round Cable is a whole lot more. We have goals
to achieve, and we earn currency in the levels. That currency can be
spent on other knights (once they are unlocked), and upgrades. These are
what extends the replay value of Knights of the Round Cable. This app
can easily be played for a few weeks.
The music in Knights of the Round Cable makes me think of medieval
times. The music provides an atmosphere of excitement. The sound byte
voices fit the theme of this game as well. I love saving the princesses
from the cages. Our princess is always in the castle we are in as well.
There may be more than one, but I can live with that.
Knights of the Round Cable has one really cool thing going for it. The
player can bounce their knight off the ground and sides of the castle.
This adds a dimension to the game play that I have not seen before in a
rotational game. The goals concept in Knights of the Round Cable bumps
it up a level or two in terms of this review. I hope to see sequels to
Knights of the Round Cable in the future.
