Ben 10 Omniverse
SCORE: 69
The home console version of Ben 10
Omniverse is on the Wii, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U. Family
Friendly Gaming was provided the Wii U version. The main advantage to
the Wii U version is being able to play it on the Wii U Controller. It
has a screen on it larger than a Vita, and close to size of most
tablets.
The art style in Ben 10 Omniverse is cel shaded by very distinctive. The
response from most gamers is either positive or negative. There is
little in between for Ben 10 Omniverse. I am not thrilled about it, but
I can see the talent and creativity behind the artwork. Expect a lot of
repetitive violence in Ben 10 Omniverse. We punch, kick, and use special
attacks on many enemies. They look the same in the lengthy levels.
I have one serious complaint about Ben 10 Omniverse. If I fell off a
ledge, I had to quit or restart at the last check point. At times those
check points were too far apart. Which meant laying the beat down on the
same set of guys I had just beaten. Falling off a ledge is too easy to
do in Ben 10 Omniverse too. I could not see edges near the camera, and
fell off a few there. I missed jumps because the graphics confused me in
some areas. I also walked off ledges between stair like platforms.
I like the music in Ben 10 Omniverse. It is fresh, and alive. It helped
me want to keep playing the levels when I had to plow through another
series of the same looking guys. I did have the other character to help
pound them into the ground, which was really neat. Ben 10 Omniverse
allows for two family members to enjoy this game at the same time.
Expect a lengthy adventure from Ben 10 Omniverse. There are eleven
extremely long levels, and multiple hidden items to find. Plus there are
a variety of Ben 10 forms to unlock, upgrade, and play with. This is the
key to any Ben 10 video game - all of the different creatures we can
play as. Some are more freaky than others.
The time traveling story in Ben 10 Omniverse is interesting. It could
have been better if I did not have to trudge through so many bad guys
just to get to the next little story element. Plus missing jumps, and
repeating the last five minutes extended the length of time to see the
next story element. Ben 10 Omniverse does contain some puzzle elements
that are too fleeting in my opinion.
