Spoing

If you are a hardcore gamer wondering if there are any real games on the iPhone/iPod Touch, then Spoing answers that question for you. This is a real game that rivals many games on the Nintendo DS, and Playstation Portable. There is a storyline, characters, and some mystery. As the player progresses through Spoing more of the story is revealed.

The graphics in Spoing are dark. The background contrasts this, as does the various items. In fact rainbow colored orbs were stolen. They are the last item collected in a level. If you crash into something, then a guide is visible to the player This shows where your character will be launched to. Bumping into things or getting hit by something will result in the player being put back to the last save spot.

The music in Spoing is majestic. The special effect sounds are a little odd, but fit the theme of this game I also like many of them like when I reached a rainbow gem. One of the really cool things about Spoing is the dialogue between the characters. They are very believable and encouraging. I enjoyed this aspect of this game.

Spoing contains fifty levels. Before you start freaking out let me explain something. There are three blue gems the player can earn from these levels. How well you do determines how many blue gems you receive. I did not care about that at first. But being able to progress past certain points requires a certain number of gems. So I had to replay certain levels to earn more gems.

The main game play mechanic in Spoing is to pull down on the wire and launch your character to the next wire. That sounds pretty simple, but the game throws all kinds of kinks into the fabric. Collect certain items so you can draw your own - which only stay around so long. Others will go away after being used so many times. Various enemies will fly in your way, or try and stop you in other ways. I had fun playing this game. One of the reasons Spoing is fun is because of how deep it is.

The biggest lesson in Spoing is trajectory. Launching at a certain speed going a certain direction will land you in a certain place. The more I played the faster I got at it. There is also a lesson in reclaiming property that has been stolen from you. I would like to see sequels to Spoing in the coming years. It was a real pleasure for me to be given a code to play and review Spoing on the iPhone/iPod Touch.
