Personal Trainer Math

I was curious to see if Personal Trainer Math was worth the money, so I went out and purchased the game myself. Many of ya’ll may be asking why didn’t Nintendo send Family Friendly Gaming a reviewable copy. I do not have an answer to that question. Personal Trainer Math takes the best math parts of Brain Age, and fleshes them out. I found this Nintendo DS cartridge to be an interesting experience. As an adult there was little in Personal Trainer Math that I can apply to my life. Part of that may relate to where I stopped my mathematical education - Calculus year two. Personal Trainer Math is a perfect piece of software for children in school who are learning math skills.

Personal Trainer Math does not impress me graphically. I understand this is an educational title, and I understand it sells for twenty US dollars. I come away from Personal Trainer Math feeling that it is very bland. I found no offensive images in this game.

The music in Personal Trainer Math is conducive to learning. There is little new in the special effect sounds if you have played previous Brain and/or Personal Trainer video games from Nintendo. Personal Trainer Math has fantastic instructions that will assist players as they work their way through this hand held title.

Personal Trainer Math follows the Nintendo formula of playing for a few minutes a day. There are various different math skills this DS game teaches. Personal Trainer Math includes single card download, and multicard download play for us to sixteen players. I can see this game used in a classroom, and believe Personal Trainer Math should be in schools.

Nintendo has obviously improved their hand writing recognition software. Personal Trainer Math is very good at discerning what numbers I was writing. This game is not always perfect though. I also ran into an irritation in a few of the games when it would make me wait to enter the answer. I started to enter the answer, and realized the screen was not letting me write.

I love to play and review games that give us the opportunity to improve our lives. Personal Trainer Math is one such game. This game has a real targeted audience in my opinion, and does not have a mass appeal like other Personal Trainer titles.
