Nickelodeon Dance Nickelodeon Dance

It is time to move and grove thanks to our friends over at 2K Play. Nickelodeon Dance includes thirty tunes from your favorite Nickelodeon friends. Some of the characters included are Dora the Explorer, Boots, Diego, the Backyardigans, and The Fresh Beat Band. Nickelodeon Dance is part dance game, and part work out. Which can help kids who have sit down at school all day, and then come home to eat and sit in front of a television.

Nickelodeon Dance has very safe dance moves for kids. This is one way that this Xbox 360 Kinect game excels (Nickelodeon Dance is also on the Wii). There are various backgrounds used in this home console game. All of them are friendly, and match something in the song. I noticed that the Kinect was taking pictures of the children while they danced. This is a neat, and cool feature of this game.

The thirty songs in Nickelodeon Dance include theme songs from the character's television shows. There are also songs like Limbo Rock, Down by the Bay, and the Lion Sleeps Tonight to name a few. I found these songs to be safe. There are also a few Christmas related songs in Nickelodeon Dance. Which makes sense for this time of the year.

The one issue we found children had with Nickelodeon Dance is the menu screen selections. One child was actually in tears trying to pick a certain song. This child kept getting other songs selected, and then had to actually go into the song to get back out of it. It would have been nice for an easier way to go back

The dance moves will give them exercise. I tried a few songs myself and it got my heart rate going. Multiple children told us how tiring Nickelodeon Dance actually is. Parents will take special note of that, as they are looking for ways to expend that energy. Especially after long hours thanks to the poor economy.

Two family members can enjoy Nickelodeon Dance at the same time. Just make sure there is ample spacing between the two otherwise an incident may occur. I do not need to elaborate on that, do I? I can see Nickelodeon Dance lasting for the winter months easily. Parents should check out the song listing to see how much use their kids would get from Nickelodeon Dance.

The main lesson in Nickelodeon Dance is exercise. Kids will learn to move in ways that circulate the blood flow. I recognize many of the moves in Nickelodeon Dance, since they are used as stretches in various exercise videos, and video games. I appreciate that 2K Play is publishing games that help children exercise. This is done in a fun way too.
