Moshi Monsters Moshling Zoo
SCORE: 85
Moshi Monsters Moshling Zoo is a Nintendo
DS hand held video game that has children finding these strange looking
creatures. Then you try and convince them to come with you to your zoo.
Later children can go and visit the
creatures in the zoo, where they can play some mini games with them.
Currency is earned depending on how well the child does. Currency
is spent on things to decorate specific areas of the game.
The Moshi Monsters in this DS game look like animals we are all familiar
with. A dog, rabbit, sea horse and more. I had not heard of Moshi
Monsters before playing this game. From what I gather it is popular kids
franchise. The creatures have a friendly look to them. Well most of them
anyways. There are fifty-two of them in Moshi Monsters Moshling Zoo.
Kids will enjoy the different regions in Moshi Monsters Moshling Zoo.
There are three main sections in this Nintendo DS game, and each of them
have multiple areas. Exploration is part of the fun of Moshi Monsters
Moshling Zoo. The moshlings are hidden, and the child needs to find
them. Going back to an area can produce eggs for currently found
creatures. Those eggs will turn into babies. Which players get to care
for.
I see Moshi Monsters Moshling Zoo as a kids game that will probably
appeal more to girls than boys. I can see boys enjoying certain aspects
of this game. Decorating the areas is one facet that boys will not be as
interested in. The same goes for caring for the babies. Trophies can
also be won, as well as awards in certain events.
Moshi Monsters Moshling Zoo will teach children to take care of animals,
explore their environment, and provide for others. Most of the mini
games revolve around some form of service. The racing mini game is one
of the exceptions. I can see this game doing well with the target
audience. I am thankful that I have now been exposed to this fantasy
world.
Most of the touch screen controls in Moshi Monsters Moshling Zoo are
easy for children to perform. The racing mini game felt a little weird
to me. That is the one exception. Moshi Monsters Moshling Zoo includes a
lot of different characters that are very different from anything else
you have seen before. Well maybe not you, but definitely me.
