Memorex Universal Game Selector
SCORE: 84
I despise the travel that is required to
attend an E3 show. Four straight years, and airline travel is getting
worse. Yet I love being at E3. There are so many wonderful memories, and
it is great to be there representing Family Friendly Gaming. Memorex has
made an impression upon me these last few years. So when the Memorex
Universal Game Selector came in, I had all of these E3 memories flood
back into my brain.
This little unit impressed me at E3. It is such a simple idea, but a
great one. How many of ya'll hate to swap game cartridges out? How many
of ya'll are playing more than one game at a time? Well thanks to the
Memorex Universal Game Selector you can have three games at hand with
the flip of a switch. I would advise that you only switch with the
machine off or on the main icons screen (before you select the game).
The unit is sleek and black on one side. The back has a sticker with
Memorex, unit name, some number, and a message that it was made in
China. One neat thing about the color of the Memorex Universal Game
Selector is the game cartridges stick out when they are in there.
Speaking of the game cartridges, they go into the Memorex Universal Game
Selector very easily. Getting them back out can be a different story. I
know I have big hands. So I let those with smaller hands try. They too
had some problems getting the cartridges out of the Memorex Universal
Game Selector. Again putting them in are very easy.
The Memorex Universal Game Selector adds a little bulk to the Nintendo
DS family of machines. I found that my Nintendo 3DS would still fit into
its case. We have a case for a Nintendo DS where it would not fit into.
It just depends on how much wiggle room your case has. I should also
point out that this will not work in conjunction with add on battery
packs from other peripheral manufacturers. So keep that in mind as well.
I believe that the Memorex Universal Game Selector is a neat little
unit. The minds at Memorex are obviously thinking outside the box when
it comes to what they bring to market. It was a pleasure for me to be
able to use and write a review on the Memorex Universal Game Selector. I
hope to see more ideas like this in the coming years.
