Just Dance 3
SCORE: 87
The march towards Christmas always brings
out some of the biggest titles of the year. Case in point - Just Dance
3. That is right Ubisoft has grown this series into its third iteration.
Family Friendly Gaming is so happy to have received a reviewable copy on
the Xbox 360 (this game is also on the Wii and Playstation 3). It is
fantastic to see this franchise move from a Wii exclusive to the Kinect
and Move as well. Owners of those systems can now enjoy this awesome
franchise.
I remember the first time I heard of the Just Dance franchise. I was at
E3 at Nintendo's press conference. They were announcing the second game,
and I realized we had missed the first one. Talked to some people, and
we were reviewing Just Dance. Just Dance 2 improved upon the franchise,
and there have been some side games like Just Dance Kids. Just Dance 3
is the meat and potatoes of the franchise and it brings it. I am
personally sold on the Kinect and believe it is the best version of Just
Dance 3. We can debate that if you like.
Ubisoft has done some really fun things with Just Dance 3. First off
there are numerous dancers with all kinds of awesome visual effects. I
love the golden moves personally. Earning stars to unlock additional
songs brings an interesting twist. There are songs that can switch
dancers during the song. This is a really cool effect. Some of the moves
in Just Dance 3 could be considered suggestive. So bear in mind you may
be moving (thanks to this game) in ways you have not done so in years.
Or in some of our cases - never moved that way before. The dancers
features are still whited out.
The music, the music, the music. How you react to Just Dance 3 all
depends on the music. I found quite a few songs in Just Dance 3 that I
enjoyed listening to, and dancing to. Ubisoft has a very nice mix in
this home console game. There are songs ranging from all kinds of
artists and all kinds of eras. I did not recognize any of the main songs
in Just Dance 3 as being any form of Christian. After a gospel song in
the Just Dance Summer Party this is a mild let down.
There are also an array of lyrics in Just Dance 3 that portray various
opinions on different topics. I know that sounds rather vague. But I can
think of no other way of explaining it. Different artists are relaying
different opinions in the songs in Just Dance 3. Some of them you may
agree with, and others you may disagree with. My suggestion is to check
the song list and try and make a determination for yourself. There are
songs in Just Dance 3 I like, and some I can not stand.
Let us start with the basics okay. Just Dance 3 includes over forty
songs in it. You can then download more if you choose to purchase them.
Up to four family members can dance together thanks to Just Dance 3. I
would suggest being careful when swinging limbs around. I would hate to
hear about a Kinect, Wii, or Move injury. There are leaderboards, and
numerous songs to unlock. I feel that Just Dance 3 is worth the price
tag. If you liked either of the first two, you will enjoy the third one.
One of the coolest features of Just Dance 3 is you can create your very
own dances. That is right. You can decide what works well in terms of
dancing. I was nervous at first when playing Just Dance 3. I was not
sure how intense this game would be in terms of having me get the moves
just right. Just Dance 3 is very forgiving, and kind. I found myself
exhausted in more than one song. Just Dance 3 is a major work out. But
it is a work out that puts a smile on your face. Well at least I was
smiling - when I was done panting.
The most important lesson in Just Dance 3 is to get off the couch and
get some exercise. I know some people in life that could use that
lesson. Many Americans could learn this lesson. Sitting around in front
of screens and eating is a danger to your health. Now if you are really
over weight I would say start slow. Just Dance 3 can help you become
healthier. It was a real pleasure for me to be able to play and review
Just Dance 3. This game is one of the top tier titles we have reviewed
this year.
