Jewel Master Collection
SCORE: 88
Value price gamers know Storm City Games very well. They continue to provide great value for the dollar. We have been very impressed with them here at Family Friendly Gaming. They continue to improve their craft, and that is one of the things we expect from publishers. I was very happy to see a reviewable copy of Jewel Master Collection on the Nintendo DS come into our offices.
This hand held video game contains both Jewel Master Egypt and Jewel Master Cradle of Athena. I have reviewed each of the games previously, but this combines them for one price. Which in my opinion is a very good deal. These two games are match three puzzle games with a bit of a twist. There are certain background tiles that need to have matched performed on them.
The graphics between the games range. Not every character dresses appropriately. This is one of the problems with the ancient world. Thankfully we have progressed to a point as a society to properly cover up. The various items that are matched are usually different enough. I had some problems with things like concrete blocks on some stages since it is similar to the background color.
I enjoy the majestic feel to the music in Jewel Master Collection. Both of these games are high quality. Sure they are scaled down from larger versions, but they are still really good. There is a religious element to various aspects of Jewel Master Collection. The empires that are being built were not known for their Judeo-Christian beliefs. Again I am thankful for progress.
I feel that Jewel Master Collection is nearly perfect when it comes to replay value. First off we are getting two games for the price of one. Storm City Games is not doubling the price. If you do not have either game, then the Jewel Master Collection is a perfect place to dive in. There are two hundred levels, and forty monumental buildings in Jewel Master Collection.
I love how Jewel Master Collection plays. This is one of the few
games that I am better than the all mighty emperor Paul. He may be a
genius when it comes to video games, but I have been able to figure
things out in Jewel Master Collection faster than he can. He found Jewel
Master Collection to be difficult, and at times frustrating. Jewel
Master Collection is a blast for me, and I find it very relaxing.
Finding the patterns quickly is one of the lessons in Jewel Master
Collection. This hand held game only gives the player so much time to
complete a level. Certain blocks need to be unchained, and certain tiles
have to be turned over. The things that are matched provide resources.
Those resources are then used to purchase new portions of the
civilization.
