Go Vacation
SCORE: 96
Go Vacation earned the Family Friendly
Gaming Gold Medal at E3 2011 for the Wii system. This game impressed me
greatly at that show. Everything I saw and played in Go Vacation let me
know this game was going to be a winner. What I did not realize at E3
2011 is how deep Go Vacation really is. This home console game is like
We Ski and Snowboard multiplied by four. There are four resorts in Go
Vacation. All of them are as fleshed out as the snow resort.
There are over fifty types of activities and sports in Go Vacation. This
ranges from ATV racing to horse back riding. Surfing a wave to dog sled
racing. I can not do this game justice with how much content there is.
Go Vacation is what Wii Sports Resort should have been. There are one
hundred different ways this game can be played. Go Vacation is like a
vacation on your Wii. I guarantee you will find something you like in
this game.
The graphics are very bright and colorful in Go Vacation. Namco Bandai
is doing a good job pushing the Wii to its limits. You can play with
your Mii or with an avatar. I prefer the avatar personally. They are at
the level and quality of the ones Microsoft has on the Xbox 360. There
is some mild violence here and there in Go Vacation. Characters can bump
one another while racing, throw snowballs at one another, shoot water at
each other - stuff like that. To me it is rather mild.
The real joy of playing Go Vacation is how much freedom this game gives
you. Want to run around and explore? You can do that. Want to get on a
vehicle and rush to the next event? You can do that. Want to change
clothes or resorts? Again you can easily do that. Want to enjoy the
scenery on the ski lift? You can do that. Go Vacation is so amazingly
flexible. I am still in awe of how amazing this Wii game is.
There is a wide variety of tunes in Go Vacation. I enjoyed almost every
single one. I felt excitement, anticipation, relaxation, and more thanks
to Go Vacation. The game does a fantastic job of explaining how to play
the games in Go Vacation. Most of them have controls that are similar.
The controls outside the events and inside the events are also generally
the same. This helped Go Vacation have a real approachable feel.
I feel that Go Vacation has the perfect amount of replay value to it.
This Wii game is worth the price of admission. There is so much to do
that your family will spend months exploring the four resorts in Go
Vacation. Up to four family members can enjoy Go Vacation at the same
time. This is great for families that play together. Plus you will be
getting some mild exercise while playing this Wii game.
I already mentioned the controls are generally similar among many of the
games and the main resort area. This continuity cements the deal for
this fun game. I am amazed at some of the fun and fresh games in Go
Vacation. The Motion Plus controls in Go Vacation are fantastic. But you
can also play this game with the Wii Balance Board, Zapper, racing
wheel, and regular Wii remote. Please note a Nunchuk is needed for many
areas.
Namco Bandai continues to impress and amaze me at the same time. They
quietly produce fantastic games for families. Go Vacation is one of the
highest quality Wii titles I have ever played. Ya'll know me, I play a
lot of games. I learned all kinds of interesting things about different
activities thanks to Go Vacation. This Wii game is one to keep your eye
on when it comes to Christmas purchases.
I really had no idea how Namco Bandai was going to top themselves after
We Ski and Snowboard. Well Go Vacation is the answer to that query. I
can only imagine what kinds of things they are working on now.
