Flick Champions

I will be completely transparent when it comes to Flick Champions. I started to play this game and did not like it. Not one bit. It boasts these eight sports - Soccer, Basketball, Hockey, Tennis, Bowling, Archery, American Football and Golf. I guarantee the "sports" in Flick Champions are not what you are expecting. Why? Because they were not what I was expecting.

The first thing I noticed about Flick Champions is how small the graphics are. Okay so I have block sports characters. In many of the sports I can barely see them with the ceiling high view. No matter how gentle I tried to do things in Flick Champions it seemed to be on overcharge. Balls would go flying fast. I hoped that something good would happen, and not something bad.

I enjoyed the music in Flick Champions, as well as the special effect sounds. Especially when I scored a goal. I love scoring goals in Flick Champions. The fans cheering is one of the more realistic aspects of this game. I did not find offensive content while playing this game. I did find instructions on how to play.

Flick Champions really shines in the extras department. When you start playing only four of the eight sports are accessible. Players earn experience by playing the games. More is earned by winning at the sports than losing. There are tournaments which include multi-player local play. Multiple cups for each sport, and numerous extras to unlock. Flick Champions is worth the entrance fee in terms of unlockable content.

The artificial intelligence in Flick Champions gets progressively more difficult as players progress through the cups. I found some instances where Flick Champions controlled masterfully. Others it would go off on a weird angle with no explanation. In a tight basketball game this could cost a match, and an entire tournament. A couple of us tested it with the same results. We could never figure out why it would go off weird some times.

Sports games will generally teach team work. Flick Champions has a few glimmers of this, but not a lot. Players can pass in sports like soccer. But then they control that player so there is not a real team feel in my opinion. Scoring more points faster than your opponent is what I learned from Flick Champions. I would like to see sequels in the future. It is an interesting concept.

Flick Champions is not what I was expecting. It tries something interesting that can be very addictive. Some people here at Family Friendly Gaming jumped on board and love this app. Others did not take the dive off the high board.
