Egg Punch

Egg Punch is a cute little idea for a game. You play a little bird who has had his feathers stolen. He gets back into the egg, and rolls around. The rolling is done in a mini golf area. Ultimately Egg Punch is a mini golf game. The goal is to collect back the birdies feathers. Which is a rather fun endeavor for an iPhone/iPod Touch game.

The graphics in Egg Punch are of the cel shaded variety. This style of graphics has never looked right to me personally. There are various bright colors used, and the images are safe for the entire family. Like a golf ball, the main bird in Egg Punch bounces off walls, and other objects. Different worlds have different themes which helps with the needed variety.

The music in Egg Punch is pleasant. I enjoyed listening to Egg Punch while I played it. Certain special effect sounds brought a smile to my face. It was a fun and fresh experience to play Egg Punch. The guide line (where the egg is going to roll) helps players of all ages and gaming maturity levels. Cool is another word that some have used to describe the audio in Egg Punch.

Egg Punch includes fifty-four levels in it at this time. I would expect more in the future. there are also multiple items that can be unlocked. This is done by spending the coins on them. The same goes for unlocking additional worlds. I found that I had to completely replay the entire game to earn enough coins to get to the third world. Which hampered the flow of the game.

The previously mentioned guide really helps players see where their shot will go. The biggest problem with Egg Punch is I could not look around, and getting stuck behind certain objects can hamper the vision. Egg Punch is kind to players and lets them take as many shots as possible to get into the hole. This encourages exploration to earn all the feathers in a level.

The core lesson in Egg Punch is learning angles, and speed. Some shots require more of a finesse touch. Other areas require the player power through. Learning when and where to use which strategy is part of the joy of playing Egg Punch. I like this idea for a franchise, and hope to see sequels in the future. It was a pleasure for me to play and review Egg Punch.
