Combat of Giants Dinosaurs 3D
SCORE: 73
Ubisoft has a huge Nintendo 3DS launch
line up. Combat of Giants Dinosaurs 3D is the final game they sent us to
review for the launch. The dinosaurs fight in an interesting style. Do
not expect this to be Primal Rage. There is no blood, or gore in Combat
of Giants Dinosaurs 3D. This is a lighter fighting game designed for
those over the age of ten. There is also some light exploration in this
hand held video game.
The visuals in Combat of Giants Dinosaurs 3D are wonderful. There are
some amazing details like leaves falling, and lights coming towards the
screen. The dinosaurs animated exceptionally well, and there is a nice
amount of diversity to their skins. With that said there is violence in
Combat of Giants Dinosaurs 3D. Players fight other dinosaurs - which is
a major part of this Nintendo 3DS game.
I enjoyed the thematic music in Combat of Giants Dinosaurs 3D. It gives
this game a larger than life feel. Combat of Giants Dinosaurs 3D
includes fun facts that fall under theory many times. This is an area
that can be used to teach your children to think for themselves. One of
the topics we discussed in our family is Old Earth versus Young Earth.
Combat of Giants Dinosaurs 3D teaches Old Earth. I am convinced the
developers did not even think about it, or research the heated debate.
Combat of Giants Dinosaurs 3D includes numerous unlockables. There are
different designs, dinosaurs, and items. The items will enhance your
dinosaur with various stats. One increases attack, and health, another
increases push and defense. There are multiple combination's. Players
have three slots available to them. A little thought in the strategy
department can make parts of Combat of Giants Dinosaurs 3D easier.
Players explore a level by walking around. There is one path that goes
one direction. Running over piles of rocks, sticks, and more produce
hidden items. If you miss something it is easy to turn around. At four
points in a level there are dinosaurs that must be fought. The normal
game play mechanic is dodge their attacks by moving left or right, and
then attacking them. Rinse and repeat until complete. I am very sorry
because this bored me pretty quickly. Sure I could pick different
dinosaurs, and complete different areas. The fighting system is very
simplistic, and monotone.
Kids love dinosaurs, and I expect there to be great interest in this
hand held title. Let me remind parents that the ESRB rating should be
obeyed for this game without question. Kids need to be at least seven
years old to use the Nintendo 3DS. The violence in Combat of Giants
Dinosaurs 3D can make certain children rowdy. The lesson that sticks out
to me from Combat of Giants Dinosaurs 3D is the Old Earth belief. I am
happy that there is no blood or gore in this game.
