We pray about a product before writing a review. Some products require more prayer than others. Casper The Friendly Ghost is one character that I sought some major discernment on. He is a ghost, yet he tries to help people, and be their friends. Too often he scares others and they run away. Which leaves poor Casper down and depressed. He also has to deal with the other ghosts who want him to be scary, and spook others.

Casper The Friendly Ghost The Complete Collection 1945-1963 is a three disc set that contains around 486 minutes of content. This will set you back just under thirty dollars. I am amazed at how good some of the animation looks. Bear in mind this came from fifty to sixty years ago. It is interesting to see how the design of Casper shifted over those years. He was made more human looking.

I really enjoyed the voice acting in Casper The Friendly Ghost The Complete Collection 1945-1963. It may not be deep, or anything, but it is very clear and to the point. Casper has a genuinely good heart, and the voice actor expresses that. The bad ghosts also have good voices. There were some characters in various episodes that I thought did not fit their roles, but that is just my opinion.

Do you love behind the scenes? Do you love learning the history of a franchise? If you answered yes to either of those then you will enjoy the bonus features in Casper The Friendly Ghost The Complete Collection 1945-1963. This package includes a nice booklet, and bonus features on the DVDs. There is audio commentary, comic book covers, interviews, and more.

The oddest thing about Casper The Friendly Ghost The Complete Collection 1945-1963 is the first disc starts at episode number four. The first three episodes are on the disc, just under the bonus features. The storylines in the cartoons are pretty similar. Casper wants to make friends but he scares people. He either finds a small person, or animal and befriends them. Or he comes along to save the day.

I understand there are strong emotions surrounding the spiritual, and how entertainment handles it. Casper The Friendly Ghost The Complete Collection 1945-1963 does include witch characters (both good and bad), ghost characters (both good and bad), and other mythical characters. One episode has a character die and turn into a ghost.

After watching Casper The Friendly Ghost The Complete Collection 1945-1963 I wonder what would happen if Danny Phantom met Casper the Friendly Ghost. I may have just given a million dollar idea to someone out there who can make it happen. If they do make that happen, I will happily accept any thank you checks.
