Captain America Super Soldier
SCORE: 62
Captain America Super Soldier for the Wii
starts out extremely epic. The player is in the middle of World War II
as Captain America. The game teaches the player the moves, and how to
upgrade your Captain America. He has three different stats that can be
upgraded. Pretty quickly we run across Hydra - the evil organization
trying to rule the world. Yeah that sounds like Cobra, but you know all
these evil organizations want to take over.
Captain America Super Soldier is all about the fighting. Players get to
beat up thousands of the same looking Hydra characters. There are a few
more introduced here and there, but too many of them are exactly the
same. The female with the swords was an interesting diversion at first,
until there were multiple of her as well. The graphics range but many of
them are dark. The camera is not always the players friend too. Imagine
having to jump one direction, but not being able to see where your
going.
The music fits the theme of a super hero in a Nazi style castle. The
voice acting in Captain America Super Soldier is good. We were making
fun of some of the dialogue just because the bad guys are begging for
it. Chris Evans plays the part of Captain America nicely. His version of
Captain America is very good, hopefully the movie will be better than
this game.
Each level contains numerous hidden items. There are bombs to find and
blow up. Which seems a bit odd. Imagine finding bombs, and then blowing
them up. Disabling them would make more sense. There are prisoners of
war that the player can also save in Captain America Super Soldier.
Leveling up makes this Wii game easier. Very little can help with the
repetition of the game play.
It is only fair to mention that Captain America Super Soldier contains
puzzle elements. There are also enemies with guns. Captain America uses
his shield to deflect them back at the attacker. This can get annoying
when players are attacked in person by closer enemies. Certain puzzle
rooms are annoying, and the solutions are not easily apparent.
The captain fights off evil that is trying to rule the world. He uses
violence to stop the evil. That is the main lesson in Captain America
Super Soldier. There is also some minor lessons in honor, duty, and
respect. The nine levels in Captain America Super Soldier will keep
gamers busy for eight hours or less. Especially if you are trying to
find all the unlockable content.
