Beyblade Metal Masters
SCORE: 78
Beyblade has become huge lately. It has
the potential of rivaling Pokemon one day. The concepts are vastly
different though. Beyblade revolves around spinning tops. Players launch
them into a circular bowl, where they knock one another around. It is
fun to do in real life. But inside a video game? It sounds pretty
boring.
Beyblade Metal Masters is way more exciting than I ever thought it would
be. I mean bashing around tops, where does that get fun? Hudson
Entertainment made it a lot of fun. There are various powerful attacks
the player can enact in Beyblade Metal Masters. Players can smash the
other top (err sorry Beyblade) until it has no more life. Or knock them
out of the stadium. Knocking them out of the stadium can take some
skill.
The characters have an anime look to them, and the front cover tells us
there are more than thirty characters from the TV show. The Beyblade
bump into one another and drain health. Take away all the health and it
falls apart. The powers come in a variety of different ways. I thought
the violence would be worse than it is.
The music in Beyblade Metal Masters is powerfully orchestrated. I
enjoyed quickly knocking someone out of the stadium. There are a variety
of characters in Beyblade Metal Masters. Some of them have colorful
things to say. To me that is the main downside to this game. I could
have done without their language.
Beyblade Metal Masters contains a lengthy amount of unlockable content.
There are characters, parts, and more. Beating the arcade mode with a
three man team is just the start of Beyblade Metal Masters. Two family
members can enjoy Beyblade Metal Masters in single card download play,
and multi-card play.
I was shocked to find there is a lot of strategy to Beyblade Metal
Masters. In fact going in fast and furious is not always wise. Some
opponents will circle around and tag you. I learned to adapt to the
other players - especially the computer ones. Beyblade Metal Masters is
a little on the easy side, but I see this game as being for kids seven
to eleven.
The main lessons in Beyblade Metal Masters are to battle hard, and work
diligently to save the human race. The fighting is done with Beyblades
so I see that as safer than using animals, or directly fighting. I would
like to see sequels to Beyblade Metal Masters in the near future. This
Nintendo DS game honors the franchise in a way that fans will
appreciate.
