ZhuZhu Pets Featuring the Wild Bunch
SCORE: 90
When I was in the hospital with food poisoning and a migraine my loving husband bought me a ZhuZhu Pet. His plan was the happy sounds would lift my spirits, and speed my recovery. That started me on the path of collecting some ZhuZhu Pets. Not just me, as one of our sons has gotten into them, and the other has gotten into Kung Zhu. So when ZhuZhu Pets Featuring the Wild Bunch came in on the Wii from Activision, I let it be known that I wanted to review it.
ZhuZhu Pets Featuring the Wild Bunch is a side scrolling adventure that is safe for the entire family. Players tag the Wild Bunch by walking over them. They throw up the white flag, and are conquered. This is a novel idea, and one that works wonders for the side scrolling genre. No need to punch, kick, jump on, or stomp enemies. It also makes this genre more approachable for children, and the female side of the family.
The visuals of ZhuZhu Pets Featuring the Wild Bunch have a surreal feel to them. The hamsters look great, and have fair animations. The bright and colorful levels enhanced this Wii game, making it a lot more fun. The lack of violence in a side scrolling adventure goes a long way with me, and here at Family Friendly Gaming. The story telling graphics have a whimsical look to them.
The music from ZhuZhu Pets Featuring the Wild Bunch is stuck in my head. Which is a good thing because I appreciate the music in this home console video game. The light hearted nature of ZhuZhu Pets Featuring the Wild Bunch is a breath of fresh air. Playing tag is a lot fresher than it sounds. At least ZhuZhu Pets Featuring the Wild Bunch is not another: "you have to save the world," video game.
Two family members can enjoy ZhuZhu Pets Featuring the Wild Bunch. The single player includes over thirty-five levels. There are numerous items that can be collected, and they unlock items that can be purchased. I am really surprised at how much stat tracking there is in ZhuZhu Pets Featuring the Wild Bunch. For a light hearted game, this has a ton of stats. Families that want a safe side scrolling game will find their money well spent on ZhuZhu Pets Featuring the Wild Bunch for the Wii.
The controls are very tight in ZhuZhu Pets Featuring the Wild Bunch. I had no problems getting around in this game. It does get more difficult as the game progresses. The hard part is finding all those hidden items. The double jump works wonders for less skilled players - like myself. I had fun playing ZhuZhu Pets Featuring the Wild Bunch, and feel it targets the right audience.
I understand that a lot of people in the video game industry bow down
and worship the Mario games. I have had problems getting into them. They
wind up being no fun for me after awhile. ZhuZhu Pets Featuring the Wild
Bunch stayed fun the entire time I played it. I wanted to play new
levels. I hope Activision keeps this franchise going. I will be
recommending ZhuZhu Pets Featuring the Wild Bunch to family and friends.
It was a real pleasure to play this Wii game, and to write a review.
