Build a Bear Workshop Friendship Valley
SCORE: 88
When I first saw Build a Bear Workshop Friendship Valley I had some
very high hopes for it. The last Wii Build a Bear Workshop game was top
notch, and upper tier. I wondered as I booted this game up, if it would
be the next game to score a perfect 100. Could Build a Bear Workshop
Friendship Valley transcend, and wind up at the mountain top? As this
review will chronicle this Wii game is a good game, not quite a great
game. No one is sadder about that than me.
I love the bright colorful graphics in Build a Bear Workshop Friendship
Valley. There are tons of colors used, and a lot of variation in areas.
I got such a smile on my face visiting the different areas in this Wii
game. The characters are friendly, happy, and make this a wonderful game
to look at. I got a headache the first time I played Build a Bear
Workshop Friendship Valley. Then the second time, and third. I was
dismayed to find I was having problems with the camera. There are some
slick things attempted, but the speed is where I had the problem. Your
character starts running slow in an area and gets going at a break neck
speed. A little wobble in the camera, or bumping something while doing
your Sonic the Hedgehog impersonation - well that is all she wrote for
me.
I really got into some of the tunes being played in Build a Bear
Workshop Friendship Valley. A couple of these songs are great, and I
enjoyed hearing them. This Wii game shuffles them around nicely. The
issue I had is the songs do repeat, and when you play for an hour or
more it can get on your nerves. At least it got on my nerves. The
characters in Build a Bear Workshop Friendship Valley are all very
encouraging, and thankful for the work you do for them.
I was surprised at how much unlockable content there is in Build a Bear
Workshop Friendship Valley. You can decorate your house, the town, and
play various mini games. There are a lot of characters to talk to, and
each of them have various quests for the player to complete. The first
few hours of this game alone is spent meeting everyone, and doing a task
or more for them. This game is part Build a Bear Workshop, and part
Animal Crossing.
The controls in Build a Bear Workshop Friendship Valley are simple
enough. You learn how to do each task, and most of the Wii Remote
controls are simple. If you forget how to perform a certain task, or
blitzed through the explanation you may have some problems. Having to go
back to the Wii menu will teach you that lesson. You can also try
various motions and see what works. Certain mini games were great, and
others were not so great.
The heart and soul of Build a Bear Workshop Friendship Valley is helping
your neighbors. The town is preparing for a celebration and you get to
participate in making the town ready. I am pretty sure I wound up doing
most of the work but that is okay. Build a Bear Workshop Friendship
Valley is clean, safe fun for the entire family. If you can handle the
issues previously mentioned, then you will have a lot of fun with this
Wii game.
