Valhalla Knights Eldar Saga
SCORE: 68
Valhalla Knights has had an interesting past. Family Friendly Gaming really dug the first game on the Playstation Portable, but was not so into the second game. Valhalla Knights Eldar Saga marks this franchises debut on the Wii. The lands are slowly falling apart, and it is a dark area of this fantasy world. There is no separation between dungeons and enemies. The enemies are on screen, and can immediately be attacked. The pacing of Valhalla Knights Eldar Saga is like previous Valhalla Knights games - slow.
The visuals in Valhalla Knights Eldar Saga are darker tones, and honestly pretty depressing. With that said, I noticed some very nice touches in the graphics. This ranges from water effects, to grass on a hill. This is a video game on the Wii, however it looks and feels like a Personal Computer (PC) game in many ways. The majority of the characters dress appropriately, but there is at least one exception to the rule. Blood is also present in this game. Violence is the main game play mechanic of Valhalla Knights Eldar Saga.
Valhalla Knights Eldar Saga has some very moody music in parts, and majestic scores in others. I was very impressed to hear the priest tell the player: “May the Creator bless you.” This shows definite progress for the video game industry. There is a theme of mending broken fences in Valhalla Knights Eldar Saga which I enjoyed. The boots hitting the ground special effect sound irritated me after a few hours.
XSeed Games included a holding area in the players house because there are so many items in Valhalla Knights Eldar Saga. Multiple jobs, along with mercenaries are also included. If that were not enough there is also an online multiplayer cooperative mode. Players can level up multiple times in multiple ways. There are also a wide array of skills that can be learned.
Valhalla Knights Eldar Saga starts out slow, and can be difficult. Once you learn to level up the various skills, and attributes this game becomes a lot easier. Valhalla Knights Eldar Saga is ultimately a hack and slash. Think of a Zelda game without the the puzzles. There are a lot of stats to keep straight, so if you are a numbers person you will have fun with Valhalla Knights Eldar Saga. The majority of the controls are great in this game. Enemies run away too often, which makes fighting less than fun since they run off camera.
The main lesson in Valhalla Knights Eldar Saga is how to become an
adventurer. Violence is also used to solve problems, and restoring past
problems. I feel that Valhalla Knights Eldar Saga is a good first
attempt on the Wii. I would like to see a sequel to this Wii game
personally. Hack and slash older members of the family with patience
should take a look at Valhalla Knights Eldar Saga.
