Nancy Drew The White Wolf of Icicle Creek
SCORE: 85
Nancy Drew The White Wolf
of Icicle Creek has been ported to the Wii (from the PC). In a lot of
ways this move makes perfect sense. The Nancy Drew series from Her
Interactive has had great longevity. Partnering up with Sega to have it
brought to the Wii opens this series up to a whole new audience. Solving
the mystery in such a winter wonder land appeals to those who like to
use their brains.
I found myself waffling on the graphics in Nancy Drew The White Wolf of
Icicle Creek. Some spots looked better on the Personal Computer, but not
as realistic. Certain spots look more realistic on the Wii, but not as
good. The dark areas of this game feel darker on the Wii (at least to
me). There are a few violent images in this game, but nothing too
frightening. I had hoped for a free range walking around in all areas.
Voice actors have a rather difficult job, and they pull it off
marvelously in this Wii game. The level of emotion in Nancy Drew The
White Wolf of Icicle Creek is self evident. The music flows with the
theme of this home console video game. Work diligently to find out which
character(s) are lying to you, and about what.
The mini games are the real draw to the replayability of Nancy Drew The
White Wolf of Icicle Creek. Once you completely solve the mystery few
will want to play it again right away. This is one of those games that
you might want to come back and replay in a year or two. Certain mystery
elements will take some time to unearth.
There really should be no difference, but for some reason I prefer the
Wii Remote over the mouse. The interfaces are very similar, however
there seems to be some slight improvements in the Wii version of Nancy
Drew The White Wolf of Icicle Creek. The interface flows better, and
feels less clunky. With that said, expect to have to wait for loading
when it comes to an upcoming conversation.
Nancy Drew The White Wolf of Icicle Creek teaches finding the truth, and
exposing evil. We love that here at Family Friendly Gaming. Nancy Drew
uses deception (as a worker at the resort) in order to achieve her
goals. There are plenty of puzzles included that are safe for the entire
family. I hope Nancy Drew The White Wolf of Icicle Creek does well on
the Wii, and additional Nancy Drew games make it to the Wii.
