Little Einsteins Fire Truck Rockets Blastoff
SCORE: 81
I had heard a few things about Little Einsteins in the past, and even played one of their games. I had some general idea what this kids show was about. Little Einsteins Fire Truck Rocket’s Blastoff on DVD contains four episodes where the kids teach music, art, colors and shapes. The four episodes are Fire Truck Rocket, Melody the Music Pet, Carmine’s Big Race, and Mr. Penguin’s Ice-Cream Adventure. Three of the episodes has the kids helping out an animal, and the other one they are helping out a race car. It is a musical race car, so there is a tie in.
Little Einsteins Fire Truck Rocket’s Blastoff uses a lot of real life pictures for a lot of the graphics. The kids are cartoon, and there are many cartoon backgrounds as well. Adults will notice the animation effects on pictures of real life animals. It is not at the level of the cartoons, so to me it was a bit of a let down. I did not find any offensive images while watching this DVD though.
The musical aspect of Little Einsteins Fire Truck Rocket’s Blastoff is pretty good. Most of the music is classical in nature. Be careful that you are not tired, because all of that classical music can put one to sleep. The kids get the viewers to clap, and do gestures with them during specific parts of the show. The kids are also very big on helping out others, and they are very encouraging. Musical phrases are also taught on this DVD in a light kind of way.
Little Einsteins Fire Truck Rocket’s Blastoff has magic missions where the viewer is quizzed on colors, shapes, and sizes. This DVD also contains sneak peaks of some upcoming releases that will interest many families. The total episode running time is 95 minutes.
I ran into a fascinating issue traversing menu screens on this DVD. If you hit menu twice in a row it starts to play something on the DVD instead of staying on the menu. Little Einsteins Fire Truck Rocket’s Blastoff has a nice layout for the menu screens. Each television episode on this DVD follows the same format that is recognizable very quickly. I noticed pre-school age enjoyed this DVD, but older was not into it.
Little Einsteins Fire Truck Rocket’s Blastoff teaches some nice
lessons about music, and helping others. I see nothing wrong with
appreciating classical music. I wish there was a wider range on this
DVD, but a musical based learning television show fills a niche.
