Call of the Wild 3D

I absolutely love nature films, and Call of the Wild 3D is one of the more beautiful ones I have seen. Bear in mind I am from the Pacific Northwest, and I snowboarded for quite a few years. So getting to see a winter wonderland reminds me of beauty I have seen in my life. Christopher Lloyd plays the grandfather of a little Boston girl out in Montana for her winter break. Her growth from a bored city girl, to enjoying the country is fantastic.

The scenery and visuals in Call of the Wild 3D is fantastic. I have seen a few 3D movies lately, and this one has more 3D visuals than any of the others. This makes the 3D experience amazing. The only drawback is there are only two 3D glasses that come with the DVD. A family of four will need to have two more, or watch the movie in 2D. The feral dog (that may also be part wolf) does attack one human. I want to make the point that the mean human did try and attack him first. There are images of things like chicken feathers near the feral dog, and an angry neighbor accusing the animal. Nothing was shown thankfully. I have seen animals killed by other animals in my life, so I do not need to see that in a movie.

I appreciate how loving, and caring the grandfather is in Call of the Wild 3D. I felt bad for the son of the bad man in Call of the Wild 3D. His father was rude, mean, and nasty to everyone. Loves wins out the day. The schemes of the bad character fail, and his own son refuses to cheat. There are some great lessons in Call of the Wild 3D about animals, and being happy. The acting shows how hard some things can be in life.

The main extra in Call of the Wild 3D is the 2D mode. This DVD has a scene selection, and then the movie in those two visual modes. It would have been nice if there had been some more extras. With all of that said, there is a lot of replay value to this film. My own children love animals, and have already watched Call of the Wild 3D multiple times. I see this warm hearted film being watched over and over again.

The menu screens exhibit an intelligent design. The story in Call of the Wild 3D teaches so many great lessons. First off there is appreciation for God's Creation. Then there is understanding that we all have our place. A wild animal does not belong in the city. Cheaters never win is another lesson in Call of the Wild 3D. Loving family members, and respecting our elders are also lessons on this DVD. We normally gauge how fun a product is. Call of the Wild 3D touched our hearts, and that goes beyond fun.

From top to bottom there is so much good in Call of the Wild 3D. I have already chronicled most of the lessons. I wish there were more films like this one being made. The 3D touch that was given to this film is really cool (apologies for the pun). You will appreciate it most during the snowball fight. Call of the Wild 3D is a very family friendly film that adults and children will enjoy.
