Chrysler Classic Racing
SCORE: 68
Chrysler Classic Racing has a 1950s feel to it. The storyline
continues the 1950s theme. Many of the vehicles and race tracks also
have the same old feel to them. The goal of this game is to become the
"King of Cool." With the economic problems Chrysler is currently having,
I hope this game will help their image. This Wii game is also one of the
value priced titles that sells for under twenty US dollars.
There are plenty of soft colors in Chrysler Classic Racing. The details
are not the greatest. In fact I was a little disappointed by both the
details, and the animations. There are small sparks when cars bump into
each other. These collisions cause more game play issues than graphical
ones. The artistic look of the characters is very close to looking like
Miis.
The audio department of Chrysler Classic Racing on the Wii is around
average. The music did nothing for me in the positive or the negative.
The car revving sounds are standard for this kind of a video game. The
storyline has the player racing against others (ala Grease), or getting
the right number of bunnies for a girl. Cruising, and becoming part of
the gang are also aspects of Chrysler Classic Racing.
There are quite a few easy levels in Chrysler Classic Racing, but there
are also some challenging ones. There are a few extras that will
interest gamers, especially at the low price this game is selling for
brand spanking new. Zoo Games also included some unlockable content, and
many of these cars bring back memories from my younger days. Two players
can play Chrysler Classic Racing at the same time for those that like to
compete in some old old old school racing action.
When I first started playing Chrysler Classic Racing I thought the
controls were a little loose. I found out that the controls were just
fine as long as I did not bump into any other cars. I wound up winning
quite a few races in a row before dropping one. The various challenges
included in this Wii game add a little spice, that I appreciated. I had
fun with Chrysler Classic Racing, even though it did not last long.
The main lesson I found in Chrysler Classic Racing is to be cool by
winning races. Sure there are other things to do. I would like to see a
sequel to this franchise especially if it is more polished. The racing
action is generally safe for the entire family, and I like how it trains
the player to avoid accidents. I also believe children can learn
appreciation for the artistic designs of old Chrysler's vehicles.
