Kim Possible Global Gemini
SCORE: 63
Kim Possible is karate
chopping her way through a whole lot of big, and burly men (and an
occasional woman) character as a teenage female version of James Bond.
Players also get to play Ron Stoppable (subliminal message there?) in
some of the game’s levels. What makes Kim so possible, and what makes
Ron so stoppable? Ron is used for comic relief, but as a married woman
with children I was not amused at the shameful treatment of this young
man.
Any young woman who wants
to become a lady knows that exposing ones body only attracts the wrong
kind of attention. For some reason Disney did not get that memo (editor:
common sense etiquette) as little Kimmy constantly exposes her belly
button. Thankfully the graphics are so primitive that enticement to lust
should not be a problem for the males who play this game. Although it is
my understanding that women are the target audience. I do not know one
woman or teenage girl who wants to see another girl exposing themselves.
Dressing in a respectful manner would have made more sense. Lighter
tones of graphics were used quite frequently. There are some 3D graphics
that are not that good. It is like Buena Vista tried to push the
Nintendo DS to its limits, and then tried to go beyond that. There are
also images of cartoon violence as Kim, and Ron punch, and kick their
way through the enemies. Some of those animations were choppy.
The musical section of Kim
Possible Global Gemini are about average. I found some music I liked,
and then there was tunes that I was not too pleased with. The music is
generally very crisp and clear, which is very important to me
personally. The sounds also work in conjunction with the action.
The game graded me on each
level I completed. At the end of the game a ‘B’ or greater was needed to
unlock one more game level. The grading scale is based on how long it
takes to complete, regular items found, special items found, and enemies
defeated. I had trouble in this department because I do not like killing
all the enemies. It would have been nice if that requirement for the
last game level was not included. Only one player can play Kim Possible
Global Gemini at a time.
Ron and Kim control decently. There were a few times when things did not
work. Learning the motorcycle, and snowboarding levels was challenging
to say the least. All of the punching and kicking became a real chore,
and as a woman does not interest me.
I really wish Kim would
learn some of the joys of servant hood. This game has all the men in
roles of evil, support, or buffoon. This is in direct conflict with how
God teaches the roles of men and women. I also let my niece play it, and
as a girl all the violence did not interest her. She also had trouble
with the challenging levels in this game.
