Bratz Ponyz
SCORE: 78
Bratz Ponyz on the Nintendo DS is most definitely a girls game. As a mother, I enjoy seeing what is going on in the video game market for the fairer sex. The Game Factory has a history of doing good games for the younger members of the family, and with girl targetted video games. Bratz Ponyz is based on the franchise of the same name. Players get a little pony and get to play four mini games on five beautiful islands, and enjoy four awesome work shops. The touch screen of the Nintendo DS is utilized completely in all aspects of this game.
The visuals in Bratz Ponyz are full of vibrant, soft colors that are pleasing to look at. The artwork is themed quite well, and all of the ponyz I ran into were friendly. The coloring on the shapes for that one mini game looks as well as the player can draw on the bottom screen of the Nintendo DS. There are also wholesome images in this game. In fact I looked around and did not find offensive images while playing this game.
The sounds in Bratz Ponyz are okay. The music is nothing to write home about, but they are also not annoying. I can not stand it when a video game has annoying music, and thankfully Bratz Ponyz does not hit that point. There are also some parts of the game that I feel more sounds would make the game a better experience.
If your child is into the mini games, then there can be a lot of replay value for them - since these games need to be replayed quite a bit. The flip side is not liking the mini games will mean no interest in replaying this game. There are a fair number of things to unlock, and find.
I had trouble with the control scheme in Bratz Ponyz. The touch screen only caused me some issues. I would constantly want to use the control pad in order to move around in town. I feel this would be an improvement to any sequels. The more ways we can control the game the better. I also had some trouble trying to find certain items in order to open certain aspects of this game.
It is nice to have a safe game for the girls in the family. I like
the fact that The Game Factory published this Nintendo DS video game.
Sequels to Bratz Ponyz would be welcome here with me and Family Friendly
Gaming. Depending on the age of your little girl, you may need to assist
her in trying to find certain items in the game. A safe game to leave
your children with.
