Sarah's Oil

Sarah's Oil

We are invited to a plethora of different movie screeners. Normally we are given a bag and a do a little short video on the contents of the bag and the movie. This time we were given a large T-shirt each, and a little flyer with a survey. I realized that with my recent contacts change I could not see the survey questions very well. I also had issues writing on that paper with it on my leg. There were no tables inside the movie theater. Even though this was a church screening there were a lot of people getting alcohol. I have some serious concerns about Sarah's Oil which I will try and get into in just a minute here.

First and foremost the people presenting these movies are getting really pushy. They are asking us to be their slave labor. They want us to work for them for free. They want us to talk all about the movie and make them sales. If you raised your hand as a pastor he wanted you to talk about this movie in the church to make him more money. Why? So he could stay employed and make more movies. This really is an endless cycle. Plus these same pastors that would not talk about Family Friendly Gaming or any of the books I have written are happy to make this gentleman millions of dollars. Why are we being left out in the cold? They also wanted to use our likenesses and comments to make them money. Again back to slave labor.

The movie itself is based on real events. It is about Sarah Rector who received a lot of land as part of reparations. The level of racism is high in Sarah's Oil. In fact if you want to know why there is such racism and hate against white people, look no further than entertainment like Sarah's Oil. Russell Wilson and his wife were a major part of this movie. Zachary Levi does an amazing job in Sarah's Oil. The lesson in Sarah's Oil is that white people are trying to steal from black people. The pay off in Sarah's Oil is when white people helping Sarah find the oil and make her a millionaire. So I guess Sarah's Oil is teaching us that black people should have all this money. Not much of a surprise coming from Russell Wilson.
