Irem Arcade 1

Recently I decided to get serious about my pile of Evercade cartridges. I am working through more of them with the hope of possibly getting caught up in early 2024. Irem Arcade 1 is the next in my pile to be played and previewed. Then it goes into my video capture pile. I hope to reverse that in a few months. The six arcade video games on the Irem Arcade 1 cartridge are R-Type, In The Hunt, Moon Patrol, Lightning Swords, Battle Chopper, and 10-Yard Fight. Irem Arcade 1 contains four shooters, one 2D side scroller where we slice and dice our way through enemies, and one sports game. If you are into retro arcade shooters then Irem Arcade 1 may be just for you. I feel like there is a bit of an unbalance in Irem Arcade 1.

The one sports game on the Irem Arcade 1 cartridge can be on the challenging side. Still it is nice to have an arcade sports video game to play. The manual that comes with the Irem Arcade 1 packaging is very informative. I did not know this cartridge is the first home release of Lightning Swords. I also did not know that Lightning Swords never made it to the United States in the past. Video game historians will appreciate the Irem Arcade 1 cartridge. The developer for Irem Arcade 1 is Irem. The publisher for Irem Arcade 1 is Blaze Entertainment. Irem Arcade 1 is on the Evercade system.
